Does faith help? |
Lead | |
|
I'm curious if anyone who has strong belief in a higher power and practices or attends services etc finds that it has actually helped with their BPD? Has
anyone significantly improved because they rediscovered their faith? Does it help at all? I am just wondering if anyone has been able to heal through religion
/ spirituality. I'd love to hear your experiences.

Faith has helped me tremendously with my BPD. I believe that it can help people heal and recover from just about anything. Of course it takes some time, but through prayer and connection with a higher power - there is no doubt that it can happen, but you have to be willing to do the legwork so to speak. I'd love to talk with you more, let's email. my email is lizlpc17@gmail.com

My belief system has helped lots. I attend services and am part of a fellowship. The outreach work and community work help heaps though half is faith based and
half not. Faith that I can get back to recovery is a huge part of my ability to get and be well. No matter how bad it gets there is some part of me that
remembers health, happiness and joy and strives to return there.

Thanks for your posts guys. I went to church the other night and it was nice. I guess for me the idea of believing in something bigger than yourself gets away
from the self-focused nature of BPD which is always a good thing in my eyes. Glad you both have found some comfort. I hope I will too
