Why are you here: To maybe get some kind of encouragment from reading the stories of others with BPD...to not feel so alone...to have an outlet. How long have you known you have BPD: I was first diagnosed with BPD when I was 15. Recently, during a hospitalization I was "re-diagnosed" with it. It's something I feel like I've always lived with. What stage of recovery are you in: Right now, it's probably as bad as it's ever been. But I have started therapy and meds again, and I'm trying to be hopeful.

Never been married and have no children though I am in a relationship. I've never been officially diagnosed, however I diagnosed myself, I fit the part well and the person closest to me agrees that BPD sounds just like me (not that that's something to be proud of). You might ask why, how...well I have been having SERIOUS relationship issues for years and haven't been able to do much about it, though I swear I will. So some things happened that seemed to threaten my sanity and I began more of search into psychological issues - I had started looking a few months before, but was further prompted - and came up with BPD, a missing piece to my puzzle. I've had this for years, no less than five, maybe upwards of ten with some years remission. Where am I in this "illness" stage-wise? I don't really know, but I really am starting to think that I might be on my way out, maybe I'm just Lost in transition.

Lets see, pretty bleak take on life right now. I don't really see how I can get better, but finally found a therapist who I have actually stayed with for longer than 6 months and am trying the Dialectical therapy, so maybe there's hope. I hope there is hope..... I really do. I have a 14 year old daughter who depends on me or I wouldn't be here. This life is torture for me. Every day I have to talk myself out of suicide. I don't think anyone should have to live like this.

What stage of recovery are you in: Learning. My boyfriend just left for a year of studying abroad in Japan, and I don't know if he'll want to be with me again when he gets back. Nevertheless I am waiting for him because he makes me happy and even researched BPD and understood me better for it, after all the long difficult days of my episodes. I miss him very much and am trying to feel normal and secure around other people, and stay out of a relationship because aside from the fact that I am in love with Blair, I want to be able to function without one. I was in a relationship with another guy from age 14-20, and was with Blair for 9 months before he left. There was a miniscule gap between those two so I am very disoriented and very afraid, especially since now that he's gone I feel that no one understands the crazy stuff going on in my head and I feel very alone.
