You obviously have an acute interest in how the body works even if it's on animals. Bet you've seen a few animals hurt badly. The other thing I found interesting was that you have NO extended family. I come from an absolutely HUGE extended family and it's just weird to contemplate. You're in a very unique situation, but in someways free from all the external clutter that can be created by so many relationships. I don't really envy you, but I find it interesting to contemplate. PrayforPeace, I don't thing disclosures have to be witty to be interesting. I'm sorry if I created that sort of expectation. Some people will obviously say some funny things and other's will just quietly let us know more about them. I think you're in the latter category and I appreciate that. It's nice to get to know you better. I took special note of your circumstances, because I'm curious about what it feels like to change your entire life after 27 yrs. My sister did it after 25 yrs, and 10 yrs later she's happier than she ever was. I envy her that. I hope it was a good move for you and things will look up. Maybe Montana is in your future. Honestly! It was scary at first, but we took things slowly and it was a month or so before we even knew each other's real name. Next came the exchange of personal info including pics, then last Christmas, he drove 2000 miles to meet me! We've been "together" ever since. He is going to retire next May and move out here permanently to be with us. Ladyvet

Posts: 110 (09/28/02 17:31:23) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	thanks em and kelly for your nice responses. it's been beyond difficult to turn my entire life upside down at the age of 50, but i slowly realized that what had become of my marriage had gotten so toxic to me, and i was quite literally getting suicidal, and i decided that i had to get away in order to save my life. my ex and i both have a lot of emotional garbage dating to our childhoods. i didn't even know about BPD until after we agreed to divorce and i was rehospitalized, but i have a better understanding now of why certain issues caused so much trouble for me. it's all too new and my state of mind still too fragile to look beyond tomorrow, or a couple of weeks out at the most. i hope so much that in a couple of years, with a lot more hard work on my part, i will be happy with myself and my life. sari "i made some studies, and reality is the leading cause of stress amongst those in touch with it. i can take it in small doses, but as a lifestyle i found it too confining."--jane wagner

Posts: 0 (09/29/02 23:25:15) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	Hi me again here goes J 1) Im 5 8 and a bit tall, Ive got long brown hair and blue eyes 2) Im seriously considering having my hair dreaded! 3) I love to read non fiction mostly though 4) Im earth/nature orientated a bit of a witch and proud of it 5) Ive got a 17 year old son who lives in the UK and is studying music at college Im seriously proud of him 6) I live in New Zealand emigrated here 5 years ago at Xmas 7) I live by the coast its awesome 8) I love to walk in the rain forests here its so beautiful and tranquil and smells soooo good 9) Ive done a bit of travelling last trip was to New York for a Virgin Weekend Shopping expedition (heaven lol) 10) Still waiting to explore the South Sea Islands its something I intend to do before I pop off the planet 11) Ive got a 4 year old who lives with his father currently but I see him very regularly hes my angel 12) Ive been depressed and seriously anxious since I was a small child 13) Im waiting to see a psychiatrist in less than two weeks time nervous isnt the word 14) I love to write 15) Im developing a borderline web site for New Zealand its coming on ok but Im too ambitious so its taking longer than it could do its a buzz though 16) My Dad was a policeman and a Seargent in the Army he died when I was 11 I still miss him 17) My mother is a nightmare fullstop 18) I have a sister who is 13 years older than me and a brother who is 18 years older than me although I see them maybe once every ten years (cant afford to fly back to the UK to visit them) 19) Im creative love to sew, draw, paint etc 20) Hate cooking although I can do it have a problem with doing it for men though and always have had Im a bit of a feminist 21) I love beautiful things including women Im awe struck by beautiful women 22) Im bi-sexual was confused about it for years 23) I am very attracted to very masculine men love to be held and cuddled and put my head on their chests and sigh. 24) I love money I agree not worrying about money would make me 100% happier, dont get me wrong Im not greedy I just know how to spend it J 25) Ive never grown to my full potential or achieved my full potential its something I intend to do 26) I love being 36 age clarifies it seems J

I never feel like I fit in anywhere. 3-I don't know what I want to be or do 4-I absolutely love animals and always wanted to be a vet or open an animal shelter/sanctuary 5-I really don't like being around people or know how to deal with them 6-I don't know how to have a relationship with family or friends. It's like I know how I should feel, but I don't. 7-I've been in 3 near fatal accidents, often wonder why I made it 8-Miss my grandfather terribly (passed away in '94) and very upset that they hid the fact his cancer had returned from me and I didn't get to visit him before he went into a coma. 9-Had a little girl prematurely in '91 who didn't make it. 10-Not sure if I've ever really been in love (?...thought I was, but maybe not?) 11-I hate my half-brother, not so much for what he's done, more for the fact he acts like nothing happened 12-I wish with all my heart that I was someone different 13-I hate cooking, cleaning, and most things along those lines 14- I've always been very athletic-(played volleyball, basketball, ran track, rode horses, drag race, and play both ice & inline hockey) 15-I want to move up north (Canada, Michigan, ??) 16-I love my son with all my heart, but I wish his dad would take him because I'm afraid I'll fail him or screw him up 17-I've been to college 3 times but not graduated, changed majors each time, failed psych. 18-struggle with compulsive lying, mainly just an attempt to fit in 19-Have a very hard time saying no. Often agree to do things I don't want to because of this 20-Often read, to the point of obsession. Usually finish a book the day (or within a day or 2) of starting it 21-Am awfull with math -can't subtract if I have to borrow, and multiplication & division is terrible, not to mention anything more difficult. Wouldn't survive if it wasn't for calculators. Even snuck them in school in order to pass. 22-I'm a complete packrat-can't seem to throw anything away. 23-moved out of my parents house at 17, while a junior in highschool. Moved in with my (older) boyfriend. Tehnically, was common-law married for 5 years to him. 24-I'm still searching for a religion. Was raised baptist (although parents are non-practicing baptist (mom) & atheist (dad), currently leaning toward paganism 25-procrastinate with everything and chronically late to nearly everything. Have a terrible time making decisions. whew, made it

I think we creative types sort of get ourselves into trouble at times just being who we are. I hope you're able to find what you need in the Psychiatry department. I was merely trying to perhaps playfully coax a little more reaction out of you, not to put you on the defensive. However, one of the best defenses for being mis-judged is to provide enough information for others to clearly understand you. Your second posting clarified your stance rather clearly. I maintain my stance that what one "doesn't" say often speaks volumns. At any rate, this is by no means a manditory excersize and I think was intended to be somewhat "chit-chatty". I will laugh almost uncontrollably and talk loudly, but usually in good company with people who are laughing just as loudly and uncontrollably as I am. I only rarely have the opportunity to drink with friends and don't usually drink at home at all because my husband is a non-drinker. Hmm... I'll give it a shot. 1. I do not like to talk on the telephone 2. I love to bake but I hate to cook (I like the precision of baking and can't stand the seemingly intuitive nature of cooking - nothing annoys me more than seeing words such as "pinch", "heaping" or "scant" in a recipe. 3. I never iron my clothes. They either get fluffed in the dryer or steamed with my fabric steamer, but I have no patience for ironing. 4. I grow my own culinary and medicinal herbs 5. When I write to someone named John, I can't bring myself to write "Dear John" - I have to use both the first and last name, or it feels odd. 6. I am studying French via computer programs (wish me luck - I mean, bon chance) 7. The busier my life, the more novels I read as a way to get away from things. At times (even working full time and going to school full time and all the rest), I'll read 9 books in a week. 8. I think long fingernails are unsanitary and I keep mine quite short 9. I can't bring myself to touch the door or stall handles in public restrooms 10. I carry a small can of Lysol spray with me, in case I must use public restrooms. 11. I smoke. When I tried to quit, I was spending over $30 a week on sugar free peppermint gum 12. I wear bright red lipstick most of the time 13. I wax my arms (can't stand my arms hairy, even though it is fine blonde hair) 14. I have three tattoos (everyone with whom I work is always shocked at this, I don't seem the "type") 15. I drink a gallon of water a day and 16. Spring and Fall are my favorite times of the year 17. I grow enough rhubarb to feed an army (or at least every member of this forum) - my rhubarb bed is taking over my entire back yard. 18. I have never been married, have no children, and am over the age of 30 and I am heterosexual. I mention the last because many people whom I meet seem to think the first three must mean I don't like sex with men. 19. If someone to whom I am speaking has a heavy accent, I will unintentionally mimic it back to them when talking. Embarrassing because they think I'm making fun, when I'm really not. 20. I talk very fast. 21. I don't like crowds, and rarely go to the mall or the movies because I find the press of humanity to be intrusive. 22. I'm not good at paying my bills on time. Even when I have the money in my account with which to pay them. I think it is a mild form of self sabotage, although recently I have gotten much better (thanks to direct deposits and withdrawels) 23. I much prefer driving a car with a manual transmission over one with an automatic transmission. 24. I have a deathly fear of going to the dentist. 25.
